On September 14, 2017, AMCONYC Fashion Week, sponsored by Sacha Cosmetics, welcomed 3,000 guests to explore the designer showcases of six emerging designers at Studio 450 in NYC. Year after year, AMCONYC provides a national platform and offers unique and exclusive opportunities for these emerging fashion designers to share their talents with the world.
Maj Designs, Klad Apparel, Zula Studio, Bradelis New York, Nicole Bell, and Atelier Kate all had their flawlessly constructed fashions showcased. All of these vividly impressive shows had a selection of top editors, bloggers and fashion pundits from Vogue Italia, Nylon Magazine, and The Fase Magazine, to name a few, covering and reporting on the action. Other noteworthy attendees were Mimi Tao, a transgendered model, and Madeline Stuart, a model with down syndrome, both of whom were warmly welcomed on the runway.
Both fashion and beauty at AMCONYCFW were entwined together and delved deeper than the surface. Inherent themes within clothing, textiles, and beauty were explored like designer Nicole Bell’s matte designs which evoked women’s bold and powerful transformations and the sexy shimmer and bed head chic look of exhibits from Bradelis. Kate Atelier’s glossy and temptress looks were inspired by bondage and gothic culture, informing the name of the show, Effene, which translates to “unleashed” in French.
AMCONYCFW’s sponsor Sacha Cosmetics had their beauty products on display in their full-service beauty lounge which was open to the public. Attendees, models, and staff were able to sample the luxurious Sacha cosmetics, which are a top choice for brown complexions. Whereas traditional department store settings may not cater to darker skin tones, Sacha Cosmetics makes it a priority to offer bright colors, hues, and natural tones to reflect ancestral island roots and origins.
AMCONYCFW offers attendees an opportuity to witness new and groundbreaking fashions meet the world for the first time which creates a culture unlike any other.
